Contractor screening process
- Ensure contractor has current liability & workers comp insurance
- Review ratings and complaint resolution with the Better Business Bureau
- Verify that the contractor’s license is current in the state of New Jersey
- Confirm the number of years the contractor has been in business
- Review the total number of solar installations the contractor has done in New Jersey
- Review the contractor’s professional certifications
- Require that contractors review and sign Sentinel’s Code of Conduct & Ethics

We expect our contractor partners and their subcontractors to share the same principles which underpin all of Sentinel’s decisions and actions. All contractors who participate in Sentinel’s program must agree to and abide by the Code of Conduct & Ethics below.
Be honest
I will always be honest in my actions and representations and especially when dealing with problems or difficult situations. If I make mistakes, I will accept responsibility for them and will work expeditiously and in good faith to resolve them.
Sentinel Solar has a zero tolerance policy with regard to dishonesty or deceptive practices. Any contractor found to have violated this principle will be immediately discharged from Sentinel’s program.
Be respectful
I will respect all people regardless of race, color, social or economic class, gender, political or spiritual beliefs or any other factor.
Sentinel Solar Energy has a zero tolerance policy with regard to respect for others. Any contractor found to have violated this principle will be immediately discharged from Sentinel’s program.
Be professional
I will always act in a professional manner, including maintaining a neat and professional appearance. I will be a credit to my company, my profession and the industry.
Be responsive
I understand that being responsive and available are critical to world class customer service. I will respond to inquiries in a timely manner, even if I don’t have an immediate answer. More than that, I will be proactive in communicating any changes or issues to my customers and Sentinel.
Be reliable
I will honor any and all commitments I’ve made. I will do what I said I would do, when I said I would do it. I will be on time and prepared for scheduled appointments.
Maintain high standards
I will maintain high standards in both my conduct and workmanship. I understand that this requires making time to learn, train and continuously improve in order to sustain these standards.
Maintain regulatory compliance
I will ensure that I have the proper licenses, documentation and certifications for the work that I am performing. I will always operate in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
Sentinel Solar Energy reserves the right to admit and discharge contractors from its program at its sole discretion.
